INTRODUCTION

Charter Green Day Nursery opened its’ doors to the public at the end of September 2003.

The nursery is owned by Emma Charter and managed by Angie Thomas. Between them, Emma and Angie have over twenty years experience of working in the Early Years sector.

The nursery benefits from a dedicated and experienced team of seven full time and two part time members of staff.

Charter Green Day Nursery is registered with Ofsted to provide full day care for 36 children, 9 of the places are dedicated to the under two’s.

KEYWORKERS

All children in the nursery are assigned a keyworker; this ensures both children and parents have a special person to relate to and that all of the children’s needs are met.

THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Charter Green Day Nursery tries to support other community groups where possible, using the mobile library, attending mother and toddler group and escorting children from the nursery to the village pre-school group.

THE UNDER TWO’S

The children under the age of two occupy two rooms within the nursery. One of these rooms is dedicated to the children up to one year old and the larger of the two rooms for the children between one and two years old.

The extensive range of equipment and variety of planned activities ensure that all babies have fun and enjoy learning while receiving the essential physical and emotional care.

THE TODDLERS
The children between the ages of two and three years are cared for in the toddler room.

Currently, the eight children are cared for by two full time members of staff.
The focus of the toddler room is on gaining independence while having fun experiencing many different activities. All important social skills are introduced and reinforced in preparation for moving on to the pre-school room.

THE PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN

The Pre-school Room is staffed by three full time and one part time member of staff. The children join this room when they are about three years old and stay with the staff until they go to school.

The children are presented with a broad and balanced curriculum, which focuses on the six main areas of learning, helping children to work towards the “Early Learning Goals, ensuring that the children are both emotionally and intellectually ready for school. Progress and achievements are carefully recorded by the child’s keyworker.

OFSTED INSPECTION

Charter Green Day Nursery was subject to a full Ofsted Inspection in July 2003.
