Jo was born in Newark, Nottinghamshire and, as a child, moved around the North East of England where her father served as a Methodist Minister in several areas. She moved to Hartwell with her young family 30 years ago, having previously lived in Northampton. Jo and her husband George have been married for 14 years and shared many happy times together in Salcey Avenue.

Jo served on Hartwell Parish Council for many years and became involved with the village youth club. She also joined in many other village activities and served for a time as a member of the cleaning staff at the primary school when Jill Broughton was Headteacher. Jo was well known in the village and had time for everybody, with a kind word and a cheery smile.

She had great energy, commitment and enthusiasm, a gentle nature and a cheerful disposition. She was a "people" person - she loved people and they loved her back. Her kindness and generosity will be long remembered.
Jo will be greatly missed by her family - husband George, her two sons, her
daughter, and their families, and her seven grandchildren.
