Yes I do mean HARTWELL Brownies. A decision was taken before Christmas to try to open a Brownie pack in Hartwell and we started meetings at the beginning of last half term. The aim is to reduce the waiting list for Brownies at Quinton. Unfortunately no-one came forward to take over the Quinton pack and this is currently in suspension.

This means that all of the Quinton pack have moved across to Hartwell. If anyone
would like to take this on they can contact me and I will point them in the right direction. Anyway, back to Hartwell. We meet on Monday evenings at the school from 6.30 to 8.00pm. Brownies is about having fun and making friends.

We performed our own version of Cinderella at Christmas and, although the
coach/pumpkin transformation scene was not particularly professional, it was quite
entertaining and we had a few laughs during rehearsals!

We have also completed our Stargazers Badge and took the train to Leicester to visit the National Space Centre there.

Last term was mostly spent cooking - sweets for Mothers Day, Scottish pancakes for Burns Night and then normal pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. I set a challenge for the older Brownies to plan and carry out an Open Evening last term and - guess what - they wanted to make cookies! The Open Evening was very successful with some Easter Crafts, a couple of the girls' favourite games and refreshments and entertainments so well done to the Brownies who planned it.

This term there will be a big challenge for some of the other girls so I
hope they do just as well. This term we will have our big summer outing, the details of which are not yet finalised and also our pack holiday in May. You may well see us out and about in the village on a Monday evening. We also love to have visitors to our meetings so if there is anyone who would like to come and see us and tell us about what they do or share any skills please contact me.
