We welcome back all the regular user groups after the summer break: Scouts, Hartwell Pre-school, Toddler Group, Hartwell Junior Football Club, Tuesday Circle and the newly reformed WI. The support of all of you is invaluable.
As you can see the Community Centre has a wide range of village groups using the facilities on site from new born babes to Senior Hartwellians. The hall is also available for private hire: i.e. parties, weddings, etc. Further details can be obtained from The Booking Secretary, Mrs J Webster, tel 01604 862809.
It is lovely to see the basketball post back in place and the young people using it regularly. The graffiti has now all been removed and the hall doors repainted. The hedge has been layed and we think you will agree that Mr Peter Fry with the help of Mr Kevin Locke has made an excellent job of the hedge. Our thanks to both of them.
As a result of our annual playground inspection, the flat swings no longer comply with
regulations. The frame has been removed and the flat swings have replaced the cradle swings
on the lower frame. This, together with other maintenance work carried out on the play
equipment, has cost almost £600.00. We have also purchased guards for all of the centre's
radiators. We are hoping to be able to carry out more work on both the hall and playing field
throughout the next year with the aid of grant applications and will report more details in the
next issue.
The Community Centre continues to be used regularly by the village groups.

To contact any of the village groups,
please refer to the directory in the centre of the newsletter.
The hall is available for hire by any individuals or organisations for private parties, bazaars,
sales and fetes. The Management Committee is elected or appointed on an annual basis with
the officers being elected from the committee. All of the village organisations that use the
centre are expected to appoint a representative from that group to serve on the Management
Committee. We are hoping that in the near future a youth club will be resumed.
By the time you receive this publication, the new guttering will have been fitted on Thursday
27th October. The guttering and down pipes have suffered repeated vandalism and the cost
of replacing these is £1800.00. We are hoping to receive a grant of 35% of the total cost of
replacement from South Northamptonshire Council.
