I have, since mid January been acting as Roade Beat Community Beat Officer, on behalf of
PC 779 Simon REID. PCSO Tara COOKSAMMY is continuing to work actively alongside me on the Beat. We are both very grateful for the level of support that we have received, particularly from the Neighbourhood Watch. I thoroughly enjoy working with the Beat Communities.
At this the end of this Police statistical year 2004/2005, Hartwell has shown a small increase in overall Crime, with an increase of 11 being +17% over last year. The best results have been in Dwelling Burglaries with a 50% reduction. This is very promising. However, Car Crime has seen an increase from 5 to 17 crimes, of all types.
Following these results can I ask that you all be aware of the Security of your Possessions, Homes and Vehicles. Do not leave doors insecure or items in view in vehicles, these all tempt the opportunist Criminal. Look after Your Neighbourhood and Yourselves.
As a Service we rely on Public Support and in line with this can I ask that if an Incident is witnessed, no matter how insignificant it seems, that it is reported as soon as possible? You may not receive a direct response, but it may help us to assist the Community in which you live.
