The 32nd annual Hartwell Homes and Gardens produce show was held this year on Sunday 12th September.

This years show was well supported with 315 entries overall (vegetable section 65, flowers 38, fruit 11, novelty vegetables 16, cookery 80, craft 28, photographs 41, children’s entries 24, top tray 3, top vase 4 and men’s Victoria sandwich 10).

The winners were:

The Bisdee Challenge Cup
(classes for vegetable, fruit and flowers – village residents)
Winner: Nigel Huckle

The Allcomers Cup
(as above but for non-village residents)
Winner: Steve Anstee

WI Diamond Jubilee Cup for Cookery
(classes 43-54 cookery)
Winner: Judy Webster

WI Diamond Jubilee Cup for Craft
(classes 55-61 knitting, embroidery, crochet etc)
Winner: Karen Huck

Unfortunately, there were no entries this year for The Phyllis Tyrrell memorial cup for wine or The Junior Embroidery Cup classes. A new class is being added to the wine section for 2005 “A Hedgerow Drink”, so now is the time to gather sloes etc for next year’s entries.

The show this year raised £500.00 for school funds.
