One of the main issues facing this district is that of affordable housing. Now that
thousands of homes are being built in the South Midlands and Milton Keynes area,
an important factor is the percentage of these homes which are affordable.
Although I have seen no adequate definition of what actually constitutes
“affordable”, I am very sceptical about whether the target of 40% of new houses
being affordable is actually achievable or whether we can house those people in
most need.

If homes in our locality such as Grange Park and Wootton Fields developments are
anything to go by, we will have an increase in commuting Londoners.

If we are to provide housing for local people and those struggling to get on the
ladder for the first time, pressure must be put on the West Northants Development
Corporation. As a Council this is one of our challenges.
