CRIME AND VANDALISM

The Parish Council are extremely concerned at the high level of petty crime and vandalism which has occurred recently in our village. Please read more   about this and the measures planned to defeat this kind of behaviour in the middle pages of this Newsletter.You can help us by reporting all such incidents.

SMARTWATER-THE SMART WAY TO DISCOURAGE THEFT

You can help to protect your belongings by marking them with Smart Water This is a colourless liquid which can be used to code all sorts of belongings such as jewellery, electrical items and even your motor vehicle. Each bottle contains a unique chemical code registered to you proving your ownership. It cannot be seen easily by the naked eye but is detectable under ultra violet light by the Police. Criminals fear SmartWater because of its power to link them to the scene of a crime.

The Police are keen to encourage the use of SmartWater and have negotiated a discounted kit for a cost of £15 (instead of the Internet price of £43) if purchased through your Parish Council.

The more people who take up this offer the more effective its use becomes as it persuades criminals not to operate in SmartWater Areas.  If you are interested please contact your sector Councillor.

HOME INSULATION

HELP AVAILABLE FROM DAVENTRY DISTRICT COUNCIL

ARE YOU OVER 70?    If you are over 70 and have less than 2'' of insulation in your loft you can have your loft insulated free .You can also have cavity wall insulation installed free of charge.

ARE YOU OVER 60? You are eligible for a grant of 50% of the cost.

DO YOU RECEIVE BENEFITS? You can have insulation installed free of charge.

Last year seven and a half thousand people insulated their homes with grants.
