Although
Wappenham does not have a single pub, it does have a an exceptional
Village Shop/Post Office and Village Hall.
The
shop and post office is the hub of the village. Don't let its
size deceive you... It contains a vast array of products - more than
you can imagine. Numerous services are offered through the post office
and also through the shop from dry cleaning and weekly vegetable boxes,
to travel insurance and banking facilities. It is truly wonderful. If
you would like to find out more just follow the link on the left side.
Thanks
to the hard work of its committee who managed to secure funding, the
village hall has been refurbished. It has wheelchair access
and 3 new toilets of which one if for wheelchair users. The main hall
has been redecorated and it is really a great venue. The cost per hour
is very affordable. To find out more just follow the link on the left.
There is
also a playground, more information regarding the playground
will be posted at a later date.
Silver
Lake - Built as a farm reservoir well over a decade ago, it
has since been stocked and matured as a fishery and now holds a superb
head of carp, roach, bream and some crucians too. The lake is some 3.5
acres, depths vary from 3 feet to 15 or so. There are some 20 comfortable
pegs, a mown path all round and a road side car park just 50 yards walk
from the water. More
