Want your toddler to swim? Swimming lessons for 3, 4 and 5 year olds

My swimming lessons benefit from:

• Small classes (between 4 – 6 toddlers)
• High energy and lots of fun
• Water safety and confidence a priority
• Core swimming skills, such as correct body position, leg kicking, stroke development and breathing are taught in a progressive and fun way
• No arm bands, but woggles and floats used when necessary

For 3 and 4 year olds (pre-school), you will be involved in teaching them to swim. By being in the pool with your toddler, you have the opportunity to learn the correct techniques, enabling you to help develop their swimming skills outside of the swimming lessons. It also gives you quality bonding time with your toddler.

4 and 5 year olds (school age) are in the water on their own. I will instruct them from poolside and in the water, explaining and demonstrating correct techniques, ensuring they are happy and confident and are able to understand and achieve the activities taught.

I am a fully qualified STA (Swimming Teachers Association) swimming instructor and am currently teaching 0-3 year olds for WaterBabies (www.waterbabies.co.uk) alongside teaching 3 - 5 year olds independently.

Each lesson is ½ hour long and takes place on a Monday (between 3pm – 5pm before Easter and 1pm – 5pm after Easter) and Wednesday afternoon (between 4pm – 5.30pm) at The Gateway School in Tiffield (approx 2 miles north of Towcester).

The course runs every half term. Next course commences on 23^rd February 2009 and is for 6 weeks. Cost: £48 for 6 lessons.
