Playground

We are in negotiations with extending the lease on the playground for a 10-year period as our current lease does not have long to run. This will provide us with some breathing space while we continue to look to rehome ourselves next to the village hall. The WRA now have a representative on the Village Hall Committee following its restructuring.

Future event(s)

The committee will, subject to time pressures on the committee, organise an event towards the summer for the kids and will give future details on this when we have decided what it will be. Halloween Trick or Treat will be put on as in previous years.

Should anyone have any ideas for a kids’ ‘Fun Day’ then please let me know.

Fete

The fete will be organised by the WRA again with the same sub committee of the WRA, Church and Village Hall doing the raffle with the money being split as before. The date has been set for Saturday 4th September. We would really appreciate any raffle prizes that can be donated and would request you let us know as soon as possible so the that the tickets can be printed well in advance of the fete.

WAPPENHAM SAFARI SUPPER – SATURDAY 12TH JUNE 2010

The time has come around again for the very popular Wappenham Safari Supper. For those uninitiated the Safari Supper is a an evening of delicious food, plenty of wine and fabulous company; but most importantly is a great opportunity to mix with people in the village, to get to know your neighbours a little better and to talk a bit more to those people who you pass and smile to in the village but don’t always have a chance to talk to properly.

Guests travel to different venues within the village for aperitifs, starters, a main course, and desserts; finishing off with coffee & port.

More details about the evening will be forthcoming – but at this stage we need volunteers (approximately 13) to host a group of guests for a course – a starter, a main course or desserts. If you are interested in becoming a host please contact Amanda via wappenham@tiscali.co.uk
